North American Fishing Challenge

Adult & Teen Challenge centers across the US and Canada have come together to create an international app-based fishing tournament to benefit Adult & Teen Challenge programs with this third annual event. Fashioned after a very successful fishing tournament in Minnesota, the North American Fishing Challenge will be held on June 17, 2023, and anglers across the U.S. and Canada can fish in their local fishing hole and designate which center will benefit from their fundraising. Five divisions will be included in the tournament: walleye, bass, pike/muskie, trout/salmon, and panfish (bluegills, crappies, perch, rock bass, and other sunfish). Tournament division will be chosen by the angler prior to the tournament when registering with the online app.

• Wilderness Discovery Centre
• Our Kids Count
• Thunder Bay Service Battalion Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps
• George Jeffrey Children’s Centre
St. Johns Ambulance

All proceeds from the trailer draw will support St. John Ambulance’s Community Service Programs which include our Medical First Response Unit, Car Seat Safety Education Team, Therapy Dog Program, Confederation College and Lakehead University Campus First Response Teams and our Youth Cadet Unit. We are very proud of the volunteers that make up our Community Services Programs and the positive impact that they make in Northwestern Ontario.

The funds that are raised by this raffle and 50/50 draw will be used to pursue activities and programs that promote and achieve environmental preservation and enhancement, such as:
Lake and stream rehabilitation, fish habitat restoration and enhancement, Encourage/educate youth to respect the fishery and practice environmental stewardship, data collection and analyses (including genetic, DNA, tissue, cell, molecular), fish population monitoring (sampling, aging, tagging, counting), restoration, and associated scientific research for the purpose of understanding and enhancing fish populations and habitat.
